On the Water with Marnie Ebeling from Eyachts and TMG Yachts
Marnie Ebeling - Eyachts and TMG Yachts marketing manager- Australia
Marnie first set foot on a boat before she could walk, growing up in Mona Vale on Sydney’s Northern Beaches with a childhood spent at sailing camps, racing dinghies, and cruising the Australian coastline with her family. From a young age, boating wasn’t just a hobby, it was a way of life.
At 15, she entered the marine industry, and by 18, she had launched her own marketing agency. After completing a degree in marketing, Marnie found her dream role at Eyachts and TMG Yachts, where she combined her passion for boating with her creative drive.
Over the past seven years, Marnie has become even more familiar with Sydneys waterways, spending countless hours on board to scout the best locations for photo shoots and organise events for the Axopar, Pardo, Lagoon, and PRESTIGE communities. You could say it’s her job to know the best anchorages and cruising spots from Pittwater to the Hawkesbury.
In her spare time, Marnie still finds herself drawn to the water, whether cruising Pittwater at her own pace aboard her parents’ sailing yacht or exploring hidden corners of the Hawkesbury on her in-laws’ power boat.

What’s a favourite destination or hidden gem you’ve discovered while cruising the coast — and what makes it special?
It all depends on the wind, but a few favourites in Pittwater are Portuguese Beach for relaxed days filled with paddleboarding and swimming, The Basin for wildlife, easy access and facilities, and further down the Hawkesbury, Jerusalem Bay is always a highlight, especially if you're up for the jump rock, but going past the Palm Beach seals is a must no matter where you're stopping in Pittwater. Whether you're heading out at 30+kts on an Axopar or sailing on your Lagoon, each of these spots offer the perfect mix of protection, scenery, and space to unwind aboard.
Where’s your go-to vineyard, restaurant, or provisioning stop when you’re on the water?
Peats Bite is the ultimate waterfront experience in Sydney. Tucked into a quiet corner of the Hawkesbury, it’s only accessible by boat and delivers a long lunch worth cruising for. We host our Eyachts Owners Event here; it’s so special.

What’s a must-have on board for you - something you wouldn’t set off without?
A well-packed COAST picnic bag, always. It’s our go-to for a spontaneous charcuterie spread, especially when anchored off a quiet beach. Easy to grab and instantly elevates the experience.

Do you have a favourite on-board meal or recipe that’s simple but always hits the spot?
Charcuterie and Aperol Spritz is the standard order of the day. Easy to prepare, always enjoyed, and perfect for long summer afternoons on the bow of a PRESTIGE or Lagoon or the aft deck of an Axopar.
Are there any brands - that you always trust for quality and performance on the water?
We’re big fans of Sail Racing for our team gear and wet weather clothing - it’s functional, clean-cut, and built for boating. For water toys and gear, Jobe is a staple. Axopar, Jobe and Sail Racing actually partnered for the ‘Adventure Collection’ and it’s easily the best mix of fun and functionality we’ve used and an essential for any day out on the water.
What’s one small detail that elevates the experience on board - something your guests or clients always comment on?
A good sound system with the right playlist makes all the difference. Whether you're relaxing in Refuge Bay or cruising through the Hawkesbury, the soundtrack sets the tone.
Stay tuned for the next edition of On the Water, where we’ll bring you more stories from those who live - and design - for life at sea.
